Finance

Our experienced Finance team are responsible for ensuring efficient financial management of the business. They manage financial accounting and systems and are specialised in areas of finance that collectively serve an effective business function. This includes analysis of business financial information, reporting, credit control, purchase ledger duties and general administration. 

 

Our finance team are often called on to support with invoicing of customers, recording outstanding and received payments, and reviewing and reconciling transactions whilst collaborating with other areas of the business on topics such as financial reporting and process improvement.

Financial Director

Karen Morphew

Karen began her journey with Liquidline back in January 2023, heading the finance team as our Financial Controller. 

 

With a CIMA qualification and a wealth of knowledge spanning over 29 years in the finance industry, Karen has worked for many well-known large corporate companies as an associate director of finance and in various other head of finance roles. Karen has a history of strong leadership skills, often leading financial management across companies and leading talented finance teams.

 

Karen is responsible for supporting and heading up the whole finance function at Liquidline, from planning and budgeting to financial reporting and external audits. She and the team ensure that we are compliant and correct, taking a forward-facing approach, looking to the future, and planning ahead. 

 

In her time with Liquidline, Karen has transformed the team’s efficiency, focusing on aligning everyday processes to be fit for purpose, whilst ensuring good governance for the business. Karen also takes pride in her strategy for growth, taking a head on approach to encourage the development of junior staff and supporting them through accounting qualifications.

 

Embodying all our core values, Karen has great ambitions for the future of the Liquidline finance department, plans of which our customers, suppliers, external stakeholders, and staff will benefit from greatly.

Responsibilities

Credit Control

Ensuring that our customers are paying their invoices to the agreed credit terms, monitoring customer credit status and issuing account statements to our customers. The credit control team will also escalate late payment issues to the business for resolution.

Sales Ledger

Issuing sales invoices to our customers, recording customer receipts and resolving queries customers have regarding their invoices. The sales ledger team also processes the customer direct debit mandates and manages this process through to payment for our customers.

Purchase Ledger

Processing invoices from suppliers for purchases made by the business and ensuring the correct process is followed for the authorization of the spend. Paying our suppliers either weekly or monthly, and reconciling our accounting records to the supplier to ensure all invoices have been processed.

Financial Reporting

Tracking and analyzing our financial health to enable the business to make informed strategic decisions, including issuing monthly management accounts to the leadership team and supporting the business with continuous improvement of processes and reporting.
